Deborah Geerlinks – Educator, Accreditation Standards – Ontario Retirement Communities Association
Deb Geerlinks is the General Manager at Metcalfe Gardens Retirement Residence and has been for the past 17 years. Metcalfe Gardens is one of the retirement residences of Diversicare owning / managing long-term care facilities and retirement communities in Ontario.
Deb is a RN graduating from Conestoga School of Nursing. In addition, to managing Metcalfe, Deb has been an integral part in the development, implementation, and education of the ORCA Accreditation Standards.
Deb started out as a Surveyor, and has since, become one of the lead ORCA educators that train homes on how to meet the ORCA standards and promote best practices within their residences. Deb conducts regional workshops across the province, teleconferences and webinars as an ORCA Educator.
Deb’s expertise and knowledge in setting and educating on some of the key in-services required under ORCA standards and other legislative requirements. These include – Occupational Health and Safety, Violence in the Workplace, Prevention of Elder Abuse.
